Working at McKinsey Singapore

At the heart of Southeast Asia’s rapid development, Singapore is the place to make a real impact on business and society.

McKinsey is the leading consulting firm in Singapore and Southeast Asia—one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing regions. We have served more than 80 percent of Southeast Asia’s largest corporations, as well as many government agencies. A career with McKinsey is an opportunity to work directly with senior leaders across the region to transform major enterprises, economic sectors, public institutions—and entire countries.

Office Culture

Singapore is home to more than 120 McKinsey consultants, who come from many different disciplines—not only business and economics, but also engineering, medicine, and the arts and humanities. Our culture is characterized by intellectual curiosity, free debate, close collaboration, and continuous learning. Every member of our firm is encouraged to be entrepreneurial—and many of our alumni have gone on to start their own ventures.

McKinsey Singapore is a warm, connected place. Colleagues often socialise together, and participate in a wide range of interest groups—as well as a running club and a soccer club.

Development Opportunities

With excellent training programmes, a team-based approach, commitment to mentoring, and a global presence, McKinsey offers tremendous opportunities for professional development and personal growth. We invest more than $100 million in training annually. In Southeast Asia, our connectivity and capability events—often held offsite in some of the region’s most attractive destinations—build skills and friendships at the same time.

Community Involvement

Core to McKinsey’s values is a commitment to social impact. We help solve complex societal challenges in health, economic development, education and sustainability. In Singapore we work with a range of organisations—from SPRING, the government’s small-and-medium-size enterprise agency, to individual companies and social enterprises—to build the capabilities of young entrepreneurs; and we nurture women’s leadership through mentorship, research, and training. We have also helped shape key institutions such as the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
