Bank of Bhutan working with MTI Consulting on six-year strategic plan
The Bank of Bhutan, the largest commercial bank in the country, has appointed MTI Consulting as its partner for the development of its next strategic plan.
Established in 1968, the Bank of Bhutan is the nation’s oldest commercial bank. It operates a network of more than 45 branches across Bhutan, offering a comprehensive range of financial services including retail and corporate banking, investment banking, mortgage lending, and online banking.
The bank is jointly owned by Druk Holding & Investments – the Government of Bhutan’s sovereign investment arm – which holds an 80% stake, and the State Bank of India, which owns the remaining 20%.
To support the development of its next six-year strategic plan, the bank’s senior management has engaged MTI Consulting to guide the process. The consultancy will lead the initiative by analysing the bank’s internal performance and external environment, defining long-term goals, and shaping strategic priorities.
Working closely with the leadership team, MTI Consulting will develop and evaluate strategic options before finalising the plan. The consulting firm will also design a detailed implementation roadmap with measurable targets and governance mechanisms to ensure effective execution.
In its latest financial report, the Bank of Bhutan noted that digital transformation and artificial intelligence will be central themes of its forthcoming strategic chapter.
Since its inception in 1997, MTI Consulting has completed projects in more than 50 countries around the world. The firm has been recognised as one of Asia’s leading strategy consulting firms.
