Satoshi Ohara re-joins Arthur D. Little as partner in Tokyo
Global strategy consultancy Arthur D. Little has welcomed back a familiar leader to its partnership in Japan: Satoshi Ohara.
Ohara spent the past period in industry, working as chief financial officer at health tech start-up Ubie, where he contributed to a €50 million capital financing raise in a Series C round. Before that, he spent four years at Arthur D. Little as a partner in its Tokyo office.
“I’m very excited to be back at the firm. Having continued to work as a senior advisor to the company for the past two years, I’m looking forward to returning full-time to the team, where I plan to further help expand the business and its capabilities.”
This time round, Ohara brings 15+ years of strategy consulting experience to the firm, having previously also served Sigmaxyz, Bain & Company, Roland Berger, and Booz Allen Hamilton. During this time, he delivered engagements at clients in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, consumer goods & retail, chemicals & metals, automotive & machinery, energy, ICT, private equity, and financial services.
Ohara also worked in asset management at American investment bank Goldman Sachs.
A member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice, Ohara will focus on projects in the area of strategy, mergers & acquisitions, alliances, portfolio management and restructuring, growth and new business development, organization, performance improvement, operating model design, and digital transformation.
“We’re very happy to welcome Satoshi back to Arthur D. Little,” said Yusuke Harada, the firm’s managing partner in Japan. “During his previous time with the company, he really helped to grow and transform our business in Japan, and I’m sure he’ll make a similar contribution going forward. He brings a wealth of experience to our ranks, and his entrepreneurial and cosmopolitan personality has always been a great fit with the company’s culture.”
Satoshi Ohara has a Bachelor in Political Science and Economics from Waseda University, and an MBA in Finance and Business Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.
In 2022, Arthur D. Little welcomed two new members to its Japanese partnership: Mitsuhiro Henry Umebayashi and Yu Hamada.
