FTI Consulting adds duo to corporate finance & restructuring division
Global professional services firm FTI Consulting has bolstered its Corporate Finance & Restructuring division in Asia with two senior appointments: Tadashi Yamazaki (Japan) and May Yee Koay (Singapore).
Both seasoned professionals join the global consulting firm as a Managing Director, with Yamazaki adding depth to the transactions and mergers & acquisitions offerings, while Koay specialises in restructuring and insolvency engagements.

An engineer by training, Yamazaki brings 25+ years of consulting and transaction advisory experience in business processes, supply chain management and intellectual property environments across a range of sectors. He has supported leading Nikkei 100 and venture companies over the course of his career, with a focus on clients in the telecom, media, technology, manufacturing, automotive, and healthcare industries.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Yamazaki was a leader in EY’s Transaction Advisory Services team, where he supported clients in intellectual property due diligence, valuation and post-merger integration.
Yamazaki previously founded his own consultancy firm specializing in new business and product development management, intellectual property, market strategy and supply chain management for major Japanese listed companies, venture companies and investment funds.
Koay meanwhile brings over 15 years of experience in financial restructuring, corporate recovery and transaction advisory to the US-headquartered company
She has extensive experience in the financial and operational management of distressed businesses, having worked on numerous large debt restructuring and insolvency assignments encompassing both court-ordered and voluntary liquidations, judicial management appointments, receivership appointments, scheme of arrangement, consensual restructuring and complex cross-border assignments involving the U.S. Chapter 11 bankruptcy regime.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Koay was a Director within the restructuring and insolvency practice at KPMG.
Throughout her career, Koay has dealt extensively in complex cross-border engagements, with her international coverage including the markets of Singapore, Indonesia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India and China.
