Global advisory and insurance broking group WTW has installed a new leader in Taiwan: Tony Yen.

Appointed as Head of Taiwan, effective 1 January 2023, Yen takes the reins from Charles Wang, who has retired following more than three decades at WTW (formerly Willis Towers Watson).

Yen has been with the firm since 2015, and most recently was leader of the Corporate Risk & Broking business – a role he will continue to hold as part of his dual mandate. “I am delighted to take on this opportunity to lead WTW in Taiwan. I am certain that WTW will continue to bring exceptional services and innovative solutions to our clients,” he said.

Yen brings with him over 20 years of risk engineering, risk management and insurance broking experience to the role. In the top seat, he takes full responsibility of WTW’s strategy and operations in Taiwan, and oversees the team operating out of its office in Taipei.

As leader of the Corporate Risk & Broking business, he helps Taiwanese companies with developing their business continuity and enterprise risk management programmes.

Commenting on the appointment, Simon Weaver, Head of Asia Pacific at WTW, said: “Over the years, Tony has been working closely with many Asian companies, developing optimised risk mitigation, risk management and risk transfer solutions. I am confident that his experience, together with his proven track records and our teams in Taiwan, will help our clients become more resilient and successful.”
