Forensic consulting firm MDD expands into Taiwan market
MDD, a global forensic consulting firm, has launched a new office in Taiwan – its eighth location in the Asia-Pacific region.
With offices across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, MDD is one of the world’s larger pure-play consultancies specialising in forensic accounting and the quantification of economic damages.
The company, part of Davies, works with insurers, legal firms and corporations on complex claims and litigation matters.
“The launch of our Taiwan office marks an exciting milestone for MDD as we broaden our forensic footprint across Asia Pacific,” said Paul McGowan, CEO of MDD. “This new presence allows us to deliver locally informed solutions backed by global capabilities.”
“This strategic move is driven by increased claims activity in Taiwan and comes in response to growing demand from our Taiwanese insurance and litigation clients,” he added.
The new hub in Taipei complements the firm’s other offices in the region – Bangkok (Thailand), Hong Kong (Greater China), Seoul (South Korea), Singapore and Tokyo (Japan). MDD also operates two Asia Pacific offices in Auckland (New Zealand) and Sydney (Australia).
Leading the venture is Rachel Cai, who has been with MDD since 2018 and has been appointed Director of the Taiwan business. She previously held key positions in the firm’s Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong offices. Cai is an expert in quantifying economic damages and managing complex claims related to major loss events and catastrophe responses.
“I am looking forward to leading MDD’s expansion into Taiwan and contributing to the firm’s continued growth across Asia Pacific. As demand for forensic expertise continues to rise, our new office will enhance our ability to collaborate more closely with clients and deliver agile, high-quality support tailored to regional needs.”
