Australian-origin engineering consultancy Aurecon has appointed Feisal Noor as the Director of Project Management, Planning and Growth for Malaysia.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Noor will spearhead the establishment and growth of Aurecon’s project management and planning consulting services for infrastructure, building, energy, logistics and manufacturing clients in Malaysia.

Noor brings over 20 years of experience in design, advisory and project management to the firm, and a track record that includes working on some of the country’s most notable projects. This include the rehabilitation of the Klang River through the River of Life and Selangor Maritime Gateway projects, and working on the East Coast Economic Region development agenda.

He also delivered expertise to the Bank Negara Financial Education Centre (with M.I.T. Sloan School) project in Kuala Lumpur, and the Desaru Coast Development in Johor.

“Feisal will play an important role in enhancing our project management and planning consulting expertise to our clients in Malaysia,” said Mohit Kumar, Managing Director of Corporate Strategy and Sales Operations for Asia at Aurecon.

Noor joins Aurecon from AECOM, where he led the Buildings and Places business unit. Earlier in his career, he worked at KLCC Projeks (a subsidiary of Fortune 500 company Petronas) for fourteen years, starting off as an architect managing the masterplan and urban design of Putrajaya in Malaysia and growing the ranks to become a project manager.

Earlier this year, Aurecon expanded its presence in Malaysia through two deals: the acquisition of environmental consultancy ERE Consulting Group (50 consultants) and a strategic investment in GCU Consultants (also 50 consultants). “Aurecon has been in Asia for over 40 years, and we stay committed to growing our business in Malaysia and the region,” said Stephane Asselin, Chief Executive Officer for Asia at Aurecon.
