Professional services firm Tricor Group has made two senior appointments, with Veerinderjeet Singh and Ranjit Singh joining the firm in key roles in Malaysia.

Asian business expansion specialist and professional services firm Tricor Group has made two key appointments, with Veerinderjeet Singh joining Tricor Malaysia as Non-Executive Chairman and Ranjit Singh made Regional Managing Director of Tricor’s new strategic business advisory unit Tricor Axcelasia – which has been formed following the recent acquisition of the Malaysian operations of Axcelasia.

With the acquisition formally completed last month, both Singh’s roughly continue in their former roles, with founder Veerinderjeet Singh previously serving as Axcelasia’s chairman and Ranjit Singh as CEO. Prior to the 2006 establishment of what was then Taxand Malaysia (Axcelasia’s membership of Taxand continues), R. Singh spent 18 years at KPMG in Malaysia, while V. Singh was with Ernst & Young.

In his new role, V. Singh will act as an advisor in areas of complex tax advisory, support business development, and mentor executives. “Under Dr. Veerinderjeet Singh’s guidance, we look forward to strengthening government relations, developing new business, enhancing our Taxation services and elevating the Tricor brand across our global footprint,” said Tricor Malaysia & Labuan CEO Yeap Kok Leong.

“I am excited to team up with Tricor because this partnership allows us to bring our services to a wider client base and also offers our clients in Malaysia and ASEAN access to Tricor’s vast suite of services,” V. Singh said in response, citing the growing demand for high quality integrated services in the wake of COVID-19 and in particular Axcelasia’s signature Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) solutions.

For Tricor, the launch of its new regional GRC business is described as the first step towards building an integrated suite of GRC solutions that deliver enhanced value by providing deep advisory expertise with client-centric technology. In addition, the firm states that Axcelasia’s tax advisory services will enhance its own existing tax compliance offering, while its corporate and business support services have merged into Tricor Malaysia & Labuan.

“Under Mr. Ranjit Singh’s leadership of Tricor Axcelasia, the synergies generated by the addition of Axcelasia’s expertise to Tricor’s business in Malaysia will empower us to deliver robust integrated corporate solutions for our clients across Consulting and Governance,” said Yeap Kok Leong, with Singh responding; “As a major provider of GRC, internal audit and related consulting services, the Axcelasia leadership team is excited to join Tricor.”
