Accenture buys 1,500-person business and IT consulting group SI&C

SI&C, a 1,500-person IT and business consulting group from Japan, has been acquired by Accenture.

Founded in 1980, SI&C supports clients across a wide range of industries – including financial services, public sector, manufacturing and retail – with technology consulting services focused on cloud, data and artificial intelligence (AI). The Tokyo-headquartered company also provides business consulting services that support process optimization and organizational transformation.

The two subsidiaries of SI&C, Advanced Solution Leading Corporation (application development) and Cibis (ERP implementation services), are part of the purchase agreement.

Atsushi Egawa, CEO of Accenture in Japan, said the addition of SI&C’s team will provide a major boost to Accenture’s capabilities in the Japanese market. “SI&C’s mission to use digital technology to improve the future and transform society, resonates strongly with Accenture’s purpose to deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity. The integration of its team will enhance our ability to help Japanese clients achieve enterprise-wide, data-driven transformation.”

For Accenture, the deal follows shortly after its acquisition of a consultancy firm in Malaysia and an investment in a Singapore-based start-up. In Japan, the company has a long track record of acquisitions, most recently adding Yumemi (2025) and Climb (2024) to its portfolio. SI&C, however, is of an entirely different scale – marking one of Accenture’s largest deals ever in the Japanese market.

Meanwhile, for SI&C, the joining of forces with the global giant will open up new opportunities for both its clients and employees, said CEO Toshinori Iwasawa. “SI&C is embarking on a new chapter as part of Accenture.”

“This transaction will combine our strengths with Accenture’s broad service offerings, global insights, and execution capabilities to deliver new value to our clients, while providing expanded opportunities for our people. We will continue to serve our clients, employees, and society with integrity and a spirit of bold change.”
