Singaporean technology consultancy Mindsprint expands to Australia

Singapore-based technology consultancy Mindsprint has entered the Australian market with a new office in Sydney, with one-time Capgemini vice president Amit Bassi brought in to lead the practice.
Established more than two decades ago as the in-house business & technology capability wing of global Singaporean agribusiness company Olam Group before branching out in 2023, Mindsprint has a headcount of 3,000-plus employees and further presence in India, the US and UK.
Bassi meanwhile brings three decades of IT industry experience as the inaugural president & managing partner of the consultancy’s latest branch covering Australia and New Zealand, including eight years as a vice president and head of various functions and business lines at Capgemini.
“Mindsprint’s expansion reiterates our commitment to invest in the A/NZ region,” Bassi stated, noting the almost 10 percent growth projected for Australia’s IT services market over the next five years due to advancements in AI, automation, and digital technology. “By building a talented local team and harnessing our global expertise, we aim to empower businesses to reach their full potential.”
Bassi has spent the past seven years building the local branch of cloud and digital consultancy Blazeclan Technologies, which last year sold to ITC Infotech. Before that, he served as head of Capgemini’s managed services business, having previously led strategic large deals, solutions, and business risk and information management for the tech consulting giant in APAC.
Now, he will be responsible for driving Mindsprint’s regional expansion, with the firm offering a broad range of technology, business process, and cybersecurity services in areas such data analytics, AI, intelligent automation, supply chain, and ERP for clients operating in the agriculture, retail, manufacturing, consumer goods, and life science sectors among others.
“We are excited to announce this strategic move as a key step in our global growth strategy, highlighting the substantial opportunities for managed services in the region,” stated Mindsprint co-founder and CEO Suresh Sundararajan. “Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome Amit. As businesses increasingly focus on their core competencies, we believe there is significant potential for growth.”
Sundararajan continued: “Our new Australian presence will enable us to work more closely with clients and partners throughout A/NZ, co-creating solutions that amplify human potential and build a future-ready workforce. We’re excited to collaborate with local talent, drive thought leadership, and help organisations embrace the next wave of digital innovation.”
Backing by Olam
Meanwhile, the firm continues to support and is backed by its Olam Group parent, which with more than 80,000 employees in 60 countries ranks among the top 30 largest companies listed on the Singapore stock exchange in terms of market capitalisation.
Olam Group is also included on the FTSE4Good Index Series, which is reserved for companies demonstrating strong ESG performance.
