Vietnam’s FPT inaugurates regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia
Asian IT consulting company FPT has stepped up its commitment to the Saudi Arabian market with the inauguration of its regional headquarters in Riyadh.
Headquartered in Vietnam, FPT is a globally operating IT consulting and technology services company operating in three core sectors: technology, telecommunications, and education. The consulting firm has around 48,000 employees working from offices in 30 countries, mainly in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
In the Middle East, FPT has an office in Riyadh (at the Esplanade), which has now been formally handed a regional headquarters license. This license forms part of Saudi Arabia’s Regional Headquarters Program (RHQ), which is designed to encourage multinational companies to establish their regional headquarters in the nation, specifically in Riyadh, to serve their operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Companies that gain the RHQ license can benefit from a range of policies and measures, such as being able to participate in lucrative government tenders, exemption from the terms of Saudization for a certain period, visa limit exemptions, and more.
Rimah Ghaddar, Chief Executive Officer of FPT in the Middle East, said that the milestone “symbolizes our firm commitment to enabling speed, agility, and scalability for our regional customers and promoting cross-border collaborations.”
Dang Tran Phuong, Senior Executive Vice President at FPT, added: “As FPT continues to expand our global presence and client base, the Middle East remains an important part of our strategy. The RHQ license enables us to provide the best services for our clients while consistently supporting them on their digital transformation journeys.”
FPT said that the RHQ license will also help the firm build partnerships with public and private entities, as part of its mission to play an active role in advancing Saudi Arabia and the region’s technological ecosystem.
Notably, the news is also a milestone for Vietnam, with FPT becoming the first Vietnamese company that has attained the regional headquarters license in the nation. With that in mind, FPT’s ceremony coincided with the official visit of Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
