Sean Deehan leads WTW in Hong Kong and Macau
Global advisory and insurance group WTW has promoted Sean Deehan to leader of its Hong Kong and Macau business.
Sean Deehan has been with the global professional services firm (40,000 employees worldwide) since January last year, when he joined with the remit to grow WTW’s Insurance Consulting & Technology business in Hong Kong.
In a dual role, he will now also lead the entire Hong Kong and Macau business. “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to lead our business operations and team of colleagues,” said Deehan.
Deehan brings with him 25 years of life insurance, health insurance and pensions experience to the role, including more than 10 years working in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
Prior to WTW, Deehan was the CEO of Standard Life in Asia, where he led the transaction to sell the business to the group’s Mainland China joint venture life insurance unit. He also served as a non-executive director of the joint venture insurer and supported its successful entry into the Chinese pension market.
Earlier in his career, Deehan served as the chief actuary and chief risk officer of Heng An Standard Life, having previously gained years of experience at Standard Life in the United Kingdom.
“Hong Kong remains a major international financial centre in Asia, and is a key market in our growth plans. We are delighted that Sean will lead our operations in Hong Kong as the territory reopens following the pandemic,” said Clare Muhiudeen, Head of Asia at WTW.
