Dutch consulting firm MLC sets up shop in Hong Kong
MLC, a 30-strong Dutch management consultancy, has expanded into Asia, setting up shop in Hong Kong.
The new office is the firm’s first international office, and builds on its growing client base and track record in the region. Founded in 1986, MLC specialises in customer excellence and operational excellence transformations, backed by deep expertise in process management and digitisation.
Commenting on the expansion into Asia, co-managing partner Robin Zwijnenberg said: “In recent years, MLC has carried out a number of impactful projects in Asia across various sectors. In order to serve our customers in this continent with an on the ground team and to further develop our business, we have decided to open an office in Hong Kong.”
The firm’s first projects in Asia where mainly in the financial services sector – one of MLC’s key areas of focus alongside retail, manufacturing, government and housing corporations. “Asia’s financial services market is very dynamic and there are several developments taking place that are having a major impact on the market. This offers us opportunities to support our customers in their digital change ambitions,” said Martijn Tolsma, the other co-managing partner of the firm.
Examples of transformations MLC expects to work on include supporting organisations with beefing up their customer experience, improving transparency and risk controls, and boosting the efficiency of internal operations.
MLC is also committed to delivering engagements with Software AG, a supplier of among others the business process management software Aris. “Over the past few years we have carried out joint projects together with Software AG, both in the Netherlands and in Asia. Our strength lies in translating business issues into the optimal design in the Aris suite. And we have extensive implementation experience,” said Zwijnenberg.
“Together with Software AG we see many opportunities to team up on projects and win new mandates,” added Tolsma.
To set up the new Hong Kong hub MLC has entered into a partnership with Xian Huang. He has lived and worked in Hong Kong since 2012 and is an expert in financial services. He has previously been involved in various digital transformation programmes at top ten banks. Huang has been tasked with setting up MLC, winning clients and building a local team.
