Months after landing in Malaysia, SPAG has announced its first senior hire in the country: Farah Zuber.

In August last year, communications consultancy ventured into the Malaysian market, as part of a broader international expansion drive across South East Asia. “Expansion into Malaysia brings SPAG a step closer to our goal of having a stronger presence across Asia,” said Aman Gupta, Co-Founder & Managing Partner of the firm.

The push into Malaysia builds on growing demand from local organisations for communications and reputation building. Mirroring its global footprint, SPAG focuses on companies in the healthcare, technology and consumer products sectors.

According to Priyanka Bajpai, SPAG’s Regional Head for Asia Pacific, “Our expansion in Malaysia is a response to the growing demand by local players for a regional agency that possesses a strong understanding of consumer behaviour that, in return, will close the divide between brands and audiences.”

With the fundament now in place – a number of local team members serving several accounts – SPAG has brought in Farah Zuber to lift the office to the next level. Zuber brings more than a decade of communications consultancy to the firm, having previously served Edelman, Publicis Groupe subsidiary Arc, and Ogilvy, among others.

In the role of Business Director, she has been tasked with growing the firm’s network and footprint, with a focus on the consumer, technology, and healthcare and medical sectors.

“With Farah's experience and knowledge in the local market, coupled with the support of our experts across the region, we are confident that SPAG will be the ideal agency partner for companies in Malaysia,” said Bajpai.

Commenting on her move, Zuber said, “In my view, SPAG Malaysia’s positive start is a testament of the network’s commitment to understanding local businesses, sectors, and stakeholders. I am excited to be part of the firm’s growth ambitions, and look forward to partnering brands in Malaysia to drive more value, impact, and reach within the communities.”
