Vietnamese IT services giant TMA Solutions is now a local partner for US-based global data analytics consultancy SAS, as the pair look to ride the digital transformation wave in Vietnam.

The combined offering presents a unique track of leveraging data analytics as a gateway to artificial intelligence (AI) innovation. Key to this proposition is SAS Viya – a proprietary solution that covers the entire analytics value chain, from crunching raw data to developing advanced data models.

The unique and accurate insights thrown up by SAS VIya can inform further investments into Industry 4.0 technology – a key disruptive force in Vietnam’s business environment. Head of Alliances and Channels in APAC at SAS Shyam Baddepuddi explained how the market is ripe for data-driven innovation.

“With Vietnam’s rapid digital transformation, a growing tech-savvy population, and the huge volumes of data sets generated by businesses in the country, there is vast potential for growth of analytics. Analytics can help provide insights to deliver business value, empowering better decisions for companies across sectors in manufacturing, banking, and insurance, retail and more.”

SAS and TMA will focus on using analytics for AI, specifically machine learning, computer vision and natural language processing. TMA’s role will be to help its vast pool of local clients make the most of SAS Viya through its specialised solutions in consulting, design solutions, prototype development and end-to-end project management services.

With more than two-decades of experience under its belt, TMA has become a commanding presence in the Vietnam IT market, boasting a team of 2,500 professionals spread across seven local offices. The technology-focused firm has become a long-term strategic partner for many clients in the country.

SAS brings its own share of experience to the table. Over four decades, SAS has amassed more than 80,000 clients across sectors – including 91 of the top 100 in last year’s Fortune 500 list. Having started out as an IT services partner, the firm has evolved in recent years to become a digital transformation advisor specialised in data analytics.

With the Vietnamese market reportedly poised for an economic rebound in the near term, the SAS-TMA alliance is positioning itself strongly to meet the wave of digital demand that is likely to follow. Indeed, a central realisation from the pandemic and its repercussions has been that digitalisation is an essential tool for survival and resilience.

“Through this partnership, we are able to leverage on the expertise of SAS to provide Vietnamese businesses the ability to leverage on data analytics capabilities to be more data-driven. This is part of our strategy to offer Vietnamese businesses an innovative approach in utilizing technology to remain competitive and relevant,” concluded Hong Tran, vice president of business development at TMA.
