A.T. Kearney appoints Utsav Garg as Southeast Asia Managing Partner
Global management consultancy A.T. Kearney has named Utsav Garg as the new managing partner for its Southeast Asia practice.
Leading management consulting firm A.T. Kearney has appointed Utsav Garg as the new managing partner for its Southeast Asia practice. Taking over from former head Chua Soon Ghee at the beginning of this month, Garg will oversee the strategy and operations of A.T. Kearney’s footprint across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
“We are the consultants of choice for many large and growing companies, and the best testimonial for our work is their sustained growth and vitality,” said Global Managing Partner and Chairman Alex Liu of the firm’s commitment to the long-term growth of the ASEAN region. “Utsav will continue to drive our agenda to create immediate impact and growing advantage for our clients as well energise our staff.”
A twenty-year industry and consulting veteran, Garg previously led the firm’s Strategic Transformation Practice for the Asia Pacific region. Before joining A.T. Kearney in 2007, he worked for five years at Unilever, a major global consumer packaged-goods company. He began his career at STMicroelectronics after earning an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, one of the world’s leading executive training institutions.
“I am excited about the significant growth and transformation potential for our clients across ASEAN,” Garg said. “The companies in this region have a clear opportunity to leapfrog their peers in the Western markets, leveraging digital and analytics. We are already helping our clients drive their Industry 4.0 agenda, enabling digital transformation from within, and upgrading their data and analytics strategies while creating real results and ROI with a pragmatic approach to digital.”
Having served in the top role for the past seven years, Chua Soon Ghee will meanwhile continue on as a senior partner in A.T. Kearney’s Singapore office. Originally joining the firm in 2000, Soon Ghee is credited with driving the sustained double-digit growth of the A.T. Kearney’ Southeast Asian region over recent years, which was originally established in 1990 in Singapore followed by office launches in Kuala Lumpur (1996), Jakarta (1997) and Bangkok in 2001.
“We have built trusting relationships with leading companies across different industry sectors, especially around the areas of digital and analytics, and large-scale, company-wide transformations,” said A.T. Kearney Asia Pacific head Saurine Doshi. “Utsav’s proven credentials in digital and transformation fit perfectly for this next phase of growth for A.T. Kearney in Southeast Asia.”
The Southeast Asia business of A.T. Kearney has grown substantially since its founding nearly three decades ago and now services the ASEAN region with more than 150 staff across its four offices. The firm is a trusted adviser to the region’s major players in an array of industries – from information and communications technology, telecommunications, and consumer goods and retail to energy and process industries, automotive, and transportation.
