Asia consulting firm ABeam Consulting has in recent months added two partnerships to its roster. The alliance with US-based Spotinst is aimed at bolstering its artificial intelligence offering, while the cooperation with Orbital Insight is aimed at delivering better economic and social intelligence to Japanese clients.

With 4,000 consultants working from offices in Asia, Europe and the US, ABeam Consulting, founded in 2003 after a buyout from Deloitte Consulting, is one of the regions larger management and technology consulting firms. In a bid to boost its digital service portfolio to clients, the consultancy has agreed partnerships with two innovative technology companies.

Spotinst

Through the collaboration with Spotinst, Abeam will be able to incorporate the use of Spotinst solutions into ABeam solutions, the firm’s solutions arm which provides a range of cloud-based solutions to clients. ABeam Consulting will provide Spotinst product sales, implementation support and services that integrate its own solutions and Spotinst platform “dramatically cut the cost” of cloud services, according to a spokesperson of the firm. “Spotinst lead to dramatic cost reduction while ensuring high-availability for production and mission critical applications. ABeam will now be able to reach even greater cost-reduction and cloud management efforts.”

According to data from Spotinst, which raised $15 million in funding in July this year, businesses that use its software to optimise their cloud utilisation can reduce their cloud computing cost by up to 80%.

Orbital Insight

The agreement with Orbital Insight is focused on improving its technology solutions to Japanese customers, which includes customers in Japan and Japanese subsidiaries around the world. Orbital Insight sources imagery from satellites, drones, and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and then applies artificial intelligence to automate the analysis of millions of images at scale. Using the approach, the company can provide insight across industries, from retail sales strength, to flood extents, to the amount of oil being stored in China.

“As customers in Japan continue to adopt new sources of intelligence for business decisions, this partnership between ABeam Consulting and Orbital Insight will provide access to information grounded in observable truths at a global scale. It will provide them timely intelligence tailored to their specific needs so that they can make better business decisions,” said Abeam’s spokesperson.

Commenting on the collaboration with the global consulting firm, A.J. DeRosa, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Sales at Orbital Insight said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with ABeam Consulting as we expand Orbital Insight’s customer base in Japan. Together, we’ll help customers make stronger business decisions that are backed by leading geospatial data analytics.”
