Michael Ballou named Leader of FTI Consulting’s Data & Analytics practice in Asia
FTI Consulting has strengthened its Data & Analytics practice in Asia with Michael Ballou, who has relocated from the firm’s American business.
Based in Singapore and continuing in his role as Managing Director, Ballou operates at the intersection of financial expertise and advanced data analytics, specialising in helping private equity firms and corporations unlock value from their data.
He helps his clients drive smarter decisions across the full operating lifecycle. In the context of acquisitions and financial transactions, his work includes conducting data health checks to support IT and financial due diligence, as well as data strategy assessments to evaluate the potential value to be enabled by a target company’s data and analytics platform.
In the legal arena, Ballou supports law firms with investigations and litigation matters. He has designed and executed analytical testing programmes for complex financial fraud, regulatory and compliance matters at financial services firms and corporations. He builds technology-enabled models that process large volumes of transactional data to identify suspicious patterns across trading activity, cash disbursements, vendor relationships, expenses and other financial domains.
Ballou has been with FTI Consulting since 2010, working from the firm’s offices in New York and Boston.
“We are pleased to welcome Michael to our Data & Analytics practice in Asia,” stated FTI Consulting in a post on LinkedIn. “His leadership further strengthens our ability to help clients navigate evolving challenges across data strategy, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and complex information environments throughout Asia.”
