Aon names Godelieve van Dooren as CEO for Southeast Asia

Aon has appointed Godelieve van Dooren as its new Chief Executive Officer for Southeast Asia.

Van Dooren brings more than 15 years of regional experience to the leadership role, having gained experience across markets including Singapore (where she is based), Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.

She joins Aon from rival Marsh McLennan, where she served as Chief Executive for Southeast Asia. In the role, she oversaw the regional direction of the group’s different labels including Marsh, Mercer and Guy Carpenter. Before that, she served as Chief Executive of Mercer’s South East Asia Growth Markets and Career Business Leader for Asia.

Her career in professional services began after completing a Master of Arts in Law at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She then pursued a career in HR consulting and professional services, including an early role as a consultant at Big Four firm EY.

Throughout her career, she worked across topics such as HR consulting, workforce development, talent management, diversity & inclusion, and organisational change.

In her leadership roles, Van Dooren has been an advocate for more intentional leadership and inclusive workplace cultures, with a particular focus on practical approaches to diversity, equity and inclusion. Her work has included discussions around the mental load associated with unpaid care responsibilities and the importance of making inclusion part of everyday business decisions.
