Alvarez & Marsal welcomes Maggie Cui to Chinese Restructuring practice
Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Maggie Cui as a Managing Director within its China business.
Based in Shanghai, Maggie Cui is a member of the Restructuring & Turnaround practice, focusing on financial advisory, corporate restructuring, cross-border transaction advisory, and distressed exits/closures for clients expanding internationally or investing into and out of China.
During her 30-year career, Cui has advised on several of the country’s largest and most complex restructuring mandates, including co-leading the multijurisdictional restructurings of China Fortune Land Development (one of China’s largest property-sector debt resolutions) and HNA Group (a landmark conglomerate restructuring involving hundreds of entities and international creditors). Her sector experience spans real estate, mining, and infrastructure.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Cui most recently served as Reshaping Results Leader with EY, and before that she led the Mining practice of EY-Parthenon in China. Before that, she worked with EY in Australia.
