Aviation advisory firm BAA & Partners opens 2nd APAC office in Penang
BAA & Partners, an international advisory firm for the aviation sector, has launched a new satellite office in Penang, adding to its Asia-Pacific presence.
Founded in 2021 in the Middle East, BAA & Partners first expanded into Asia-Pacific in 2023 when it launched in Singapore. The new office in Penang, with 1.7 million residents one of Malaysia’s most densely populated cities, now complements its footprint and provides the consulting firm closer proximity to clients in one of the fastest growing aviation regions in the world.
“Penang sits at the intersection of aviation, manufacturing, tourism, and regional connectivity,” explained Linus Benjamin Bauer, Founder and Global Managing Partner of BAA & Partners. “As airlines, airports, and governments across Asia-Pacific reassess growth strategies, network structures, and infrastructure investment, proximity matters. Our presence in Penang allows us to work more closely with clients, partners, and public-sector stakeholders.”
BAA & Partners is a management consulting firm with deep expertise across airlines, airports, and the wider aviation ecosystem. The firm operates with a hybrid talent model – delivering engagements through a combination of members from its core team and its global network of independent consultants who bring specialist expertise.
“Our Penang office will serve as a strategic platform supporting rising client demand for on-the-ground advisory capabilities in Malaysia and the region’s fast-growing aviation markets,” said Bauer. “This is about being embedded in the ecosystems we advise. Penang offers a compelling mix of connectivity, talent, and regional relevance that aligns well with how aviation in Asia is evolving.”
Examples of projects BAA & Partners works on include airline strategy, government aviation policy, dual-brand airline models, airport commercial development, airport development, aviation-linked tourism and economic development, fleet and network optimisation, and transformation of operations and customer services.
