Alvarez & Marsal promotes Tzai Ming Pok and Renzo Renting to Managing Director

Global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has promoted APAC-based members Tzai Ming Pok and Renzo Renting to Managing Director.

Tzai Ming Pok is Head of Restructuring in Alvarez & Marsal’s Malaysia office, where he leads restructuring and turnaround projects. He has deep expertise in debt restructuring, distressed advisory, turnaround management, short term crisis stabilization, stakeholder management and negotiations with creditors and banks.

With more than 20 years of experience, Tzai Ming has worked with a range of clients in Malaysia and in the UK. In the last five years, Tzai Ming has been involved in complex debt restructuring of distressed corporates representing a total aggregate debt of $1 billion.

Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, he was with EY in the UK and Asia, latterly serving as a Senior Executive Director in Malaysia.

The Dutchman Renzo Renting has been with Alvarez & Marsal since early 2024 – he too has a background at EY. Based in Australia since 2016, Renzo has built Alvarez & Marsal’s CFO Services practice from the ground up in Australia.

He works with large and medium-sized organizations to improve the value delivered by finance functions. He has experience with multinational and domestic companies across a range of sectors, including power and utilities, retail, logistics, higher education, and healthcare.

Notable engagements of Renzo include leading the finance transformation of a large Australian utility after it moved from government to private ownership. He also has undertaken a variety of working capital improvement projects, helped a new carved-out organization with setting up its finance function, and with the development of shared services strategies at a multinational.
