HKA welcomes Andrew Merrilees back to Asia Pacific team
HKA, a global consultancy firm in risk mitigation and dispute resolution, has welcomed back Andrew Merrilees to its Asia Pacific team.
Appointed a Partner within the Construction, Claims and Expert Services team, Andrew Merrilees brings over three decades of experience in quantum and delay analysis, commercial damages, and expert witness services across the construction, engineering and insurance sectors to the firm. He is based in the firm’s Singapore office.
He joins HKA from Rimkus, where he served as Head of its Quantum Expert Services practice in Asia. Before that, he worked for regional player Charlton Martin and HKA in his first spell at the firm.
A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an accredited expert of the Academy of Experts, Merrilees has worked extensively on major projects including building, infrastructure, rail, engineering, power, petrochemical, oil & gas and renewables projects. His expertise spans commercial and contracts management, independent advisory and opinion services, and dispute avoidance and resolution.
Merrilees is regularly appointed as an expert witness in matters of delay and disruption and quantum assessments of loss and expense and damages. He has provided testimony as an expert witness in arbitration, litigation, mediation, adjudication, and in support of dispute boards under the rules of SIAC, AIAC, HKIAC, DIAC and LCIA.
In his new role, Merrilees will support HKA’s clients and legal advisors in navigating high-value claims involving quantum, delay and disruption.
