BMT appoints Shivaprakash Rao as Asia Head of Engineering and Consulting
Global professional services firm BMT has appointed Shivaprakash Rao as the new Head of Engineering and Consulting for Asia.
Hired externally, Shivaprakash Rao brings around 25-years of experience in consulting, project development and investment support to BMT. His expertise covers technical, investment, logistics, feasibility, engineering, construction and commissioning aspects of complex projects across the offshore, onshore, ports and energy domains.
Rao was previously with Advisian, an international consultancy firm where he headed the upstream, midstream and LNG division executing feasibility studies, investment due diligence and economic appraisals while supporting clients in their investment plans and energy transition.
Commenting on his appointment, Rao said: “BMT has a long, successful track record across the region in delivering value and outcomes to its clients. I am excited to join the team and further develop our presence in the region by working with diverse customers to deliver innovative solutions across a whole host of sectors.”

He has considerable practical experience of leading projects from feasibility to reality and has also led and supported on highly complex technical consulting assignments, ranging from energy (LNG, oil & renewables) and coastal infrastructure project investment support on capital projects, expert witness and accident investigation.”
The appointment comes shortly after London-headquartered company consolidated its offices across the Asia-Pacific region. BMT focuses mainly on technical engineering and management consulting services to the maritime sector.
