Ronan Collins joins FTI Consulting’s Construction practice in Asia

FTI Consulting has strengthened its Construction, Projects & Assets practice with Ronan Collins, who is based out of Singapore.

With over 30 years of experience, Ronan Collins is an expert in advising how to specify and plan the implementation of digital engineering processes in construction projects. Throughout his career, he has advised on these matters in multiple sectors, including airports, hotels, railways, universities, exhibition centres, and casinos.

In particular, Collins specializes in the use of methods such as building information modelling (BIM), geographic information systems (GIS), reality capture solutions, augmented /virtual reality, and other construction technologies that can provide builders with a strategic advantage in the planning and delivery phase.

“Digital solutions can help owners and contractors enhance risk management systems, improve project controls and reduce overall costs,” said Collins. “I look forward to offering digital solutions to enhance the efficiency and productivity on construction and infrastructure projects.”

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Collins established a specialist consulting firm in Hong Kong focused on construction technology, project information management, BIM and 4D planning. He also worked as a structural engineer for Arup in Europe and Hong Kong.

Notable projects he worked on include: working on the design phase of the Changi Airport Terminal 5 in Singapore, serving as BIM Director for luxury hotel development projects in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea region, serving as the BIM Manager for Cathay Pacific’s Cargo Terminal, and working on the upgrade of Hong Kong International Airport.
