BrazilFTI Consulting names Sunny Yi regional leader of Business Transformation practice
Global advisory firm FTI Consulting has welcomed Sunny Yi to the firm as a Senior Managing Director and North Asia Leader of its Business Transformation practice.
A former leader at Bain & Company and Kearney, Sunny Yi brings more than 30 years of consulting experience in strategy, transformation, change management, organisation, and leadership to FTI Consulting.
Now at the helm of the firm’s Business Transformation practice, Yi will oversee client service and practice development across the North Asia region, which comprises FTI Consulting’s teams in China, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, and Taiwan.

During his 17 years at Bain & Company, Yi held roles as Managing Partner of the Seoul office and Asia leader of the Operations Improvement Capability practice. At Kearney, where he spent a decade, Yi grew the ranks to Managing Partner of the Chicago office, and later founded the Seoul office and played a leadership role in the firm’s expansion across Asia.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Yi served as the Chief Digital Officer of Shinhan Financial Group, the largest financial institution in Korea ($1 trillion of assets under management), and also as the CEO of Shinhan DS, a digital solution company responsible for Shinhan’s digital transformation.
