EY-Parthenon has appointed Singapore-based leader Joongshik Wang as the new leader of its Asia Pacific business unit.

Currently the EY-Parthenon leader for ASEAN and Singapore, Joongshik Wang now steps up to the top role for the Asia Pacific division. In the position, he oversees over 1,000 strategy consultants in 20+ countries in the region, dedicated to advising on corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, and business transformation.

Wang is a member of EY’s Executive Team for the Strategy & Transactions business and the Global Leadership Team of EY-Parthenon. He retains his role ASEAN and Singapore Leader of the strategy consulting firm.

Commenting on his role, he said he aims to drive EY-Parthenon through its “next phase of growth” in the region, as the firm faces growing demand from clients who are “facing a complex interplay of disruptive forces” such as geopolitical uncertainty, business model transformation, and emerging technologies.

“This calls for transformative corporate, transaction, and turnaround strategies that will enable them to build long-term value in an ever-changing external environment. EY-Parthenon is well placed to guide clients through this process,” he said.

Wang brings over 20 years of experience to the role, including over a decade at EY-Parthenon. He has worked extensively across Asia Pacific, supporting clients in ASEAN, Korea and Greater China, on topics such as strategy, the capital agenda, strategic and business transformation, and digital driven change.

Prior to EY-Parthenon, Wang was a partner at Kearney focusing on corporate and business strategy for multinationals and commercial due diligence for private equity firms, and was a partner at Corporate Value Associates. He also served Deloitte in its Strategy & Operations team and spent four years as a researcher at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy.

John van Rossen, Global Leader of EY-Parthenon Leader, said: “Asia Pacific is home to some of the world’s fastest-growing economies, offering tremendous growth opportunities for business across the globe. We are delighted to see Joongshik take on the role and lead EY-Parthenon in the region.”

Joongshik Wang holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Applied Statistics from Yonsei University in South Korea.
