Accenture launches joint venture with Tokyo-based Mujin
Accenture has launched a joint venture company with Mujin, a Japanese company specialized in intelligent robotics for the manufacturing and logistics industries.
The new ‘Accenture Alpha Automation’, 70% owned by Accenture and 30% owned by Mujin, will combine Accenture’s IT engineering and manufacturing expertise with Mujin’s experience in industrial robotics and automation.
The blend of the offerings will according to the two companies enable clients to make faster, better decisions and hyper-automate their manufacturing and logistics processes, mainly by injecting a more data-driven and connected approach into their ways of working.
Tokyo-based Mujin provides industrial robotics and automation solutions to companies worldwide. Accenture meanwhile is one of the world’s largest consulting and technology companies. The joint venture is led by Accenture’s Japanese business.
Atsushi Egawa, who leads Accenture’s business in Japan, said: “By teaming with Mujin, a leader in robotics technology, Accenture will be able to help our clients take advantage of AI and robotics to connect data throughout the manufacturing and logistics value chain, further contributing to the data-driven transformation of Japan’s important manufacturing and logistics industries.”
