Alvarez & Marsal hires three new managing directors in China
Global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has bolstered its senior team in Greater China with three new members.
Appointed as Managing Directors, Chang Shu, Lin Zhu and Han Tang bring over four decades of combined experience to Alvarez & Marsal. They all joined the professional services firm from a rival tier-one consultancy.

Chang Shu has more than 16 years of experience in the automotive and industrial sector, providing strategy and operation consulting services to leading vehicle OEMs, parts suppliers, and players along the value chain.
Shu has also supported private equity firms exploring the auto sector, especially new energy vehicles, mobility service and tier suppliers. His focus areas include auto sales marketing, go-to market strategy for new energy vehicles, car sharing and car rental strategy for mobility service, used car and service strategy for after service.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, he was a partner at EY-Parthenon, where he led a wide range of strategy- and operation-related projects dedicated to the automotive and industrial sector. Previously, he served Roland Berger, Accenture, and Oliver Wyman.
Lin Zhu specializes in strategy and operational consulting business and mergers and acquisitions strategic advisory. Her primary areas of concentration are market entry, growth; customer strategy, organizational optimization; mergers & acquisitions (focused on commercial due diligence and post-merger integration).
With more than 16 years of consulting and industrial experience, Zhu has worked with leading players in the market, especially focusing on the automotive and industrial goods areas. She is an expert in emerging topics, including new energy vehicles, autonomous driving, customer experience and carbon neutrality.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Zhu spent over 10 years with Roland Berger and EY-Parthenon in China, where she most recently served as partner.
Han Tang has more than 20 years of consulting and corporate experience, with a focus on digital transformation.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Tang spent 15 years with Accenture in China, where he took on various roles in different practices, including Accenture Strategy and Accenture Technology. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including consumer goods, healthcare, auto and industrial goods.
Notable assignments he worked on include developing and implementing the digital strategy for a consumer goods company, and designing a business and operating model for the new mobility business of a multinational original equipment manufacturer.
