Eugene Ho new CEO of Deloitte's $1 billion Southeast Asia business
Global professional services firm Deloitte has named Eugene Ho as its new Chief Executive Officer for the Southeast Asia region.
In the role, Eugene Ho will lead a team of over 13,000 professionals (including 500+ partners) across its offices in the 10 ASEAN countries. He assumes the role on 1 June 2023, which coincides with the start of Deloitte’s fiscal year 2024.
Ho will succeed 38-year company veteran Philip Yuen, who will by June have completed his maximum two terms in the office. During this seven-year period, Deloitte managed to double its Southeast Asia business, to current revenues of just under $1 billion.
“Under Philip’s leadership, Deloitte Southeast Asia has successfully grown in size and scale; and this has put us in prime position to be the undisputed leader in professional services in the region. I am excited to lead the firm into its next chapter,” said Ho.
A consultant by background, Ho has close to three decades of management consulting experience, including the last 18 years as a partner at Deloitte. He is currently the Southeast Asia Managing Director for Consulting and Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer for the region.
Under Ho’s leadership, Deloitte last year closed two Southeast Asia deals in its Consulting division.
In his client-facing consulting work, Ho has worked with organisations across Asia Pacific, in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Japan, India and Australia. His key areas of focus are large scale business transformation and operating model programmes.
“Eugene’s experience as Southeast Asia Managing Director for Consulting – a fast growing business for Deloitte across the region – and as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer, combined with his over 28 years as a management consultant, makes him the right leader for Deloitte Southeast Asia in this next growth phase. I am confident Eugene will lead the firm to even greater success,” said Yuen.
In pursuing this ‘greater success’, Ho said that Deloitte will continue to anchor purpose at the core of what it does. “We aim to make an impact that matters for our clients, people and communities. We put our people first; we place our clients at the centre and serve them with distinction; and we support our local communities.”
