Kearney promotes five partners to senior APAC leadership roles

Global management consulting firm Kearney has promoted five Asia-based partners to senior leadership roles.

According to Arjun Sethi, Regional Head and Chairman of Asia Pacific at Kearney, the high-profile appointments are testimony of the firm’s growth over the past period, and continued growth ambitions going forward.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Kearney’s Asia Pacific division has seen its revenue jump by 22% and its headcount by a similar number. The firm also added a new office in Manila to lift its footprint in the region to 10 countries.

Now, in what Sethi describes as the “next phase in its growth journey”, Kearney targets to grow its Asia Pacific revenue by upwards of 60% by the end of 2025.

Much of this growth will be driven by organic growth in existing services and markets, entry into new markets and offerings, and vertical integration across the value chain – Kearney is increasingly adding proprietary solutions to its portfolio of management consulting services. While inorganic growth is never off the table, turning to acquisitions is historically a rare move for the firm, with only four deals closed worldwide in over a dozen years.

To fuel its growth in “key practice areas”, Kearney has elevated five leaders to higher positions, with the remit of “steering the direction and building out offerings and client networks”, said Sethi.

Shirley Santoso, who already holds three Asia Pacific wide leadership roles, has been appointed as a member of the Managing Partner Leadership team.

As part of the team, Jakarta-based Santoso will contribute to the firm’s strategy and its execution, and spearhead global partnerships and projects. Santoso has been with Kearney for over two decades.

Nobuhito Abe has been installed as Asia Pacific Lead of the Automotive, Transportation and Industrials (ATI) practice.

Tokyo-based Abe will lead the firm’s services and growth to the three sectoral segments, with a personal focus on automotive clients. He will also be responsible for leading regional and global collaborations with delivery partners, system providers and others.

Siddharth Jain (Mumbai) and Keat Yap (Kuala Lumpur) have both been promoted to Regional Practice Leads of the Operations & Performance practice. The duo has been handed the remit to make Kearney the “partner of choice” for strategic operations consulting services, which boasts a deep legacy in the firm.

Saurabh Singh has taken on the role of the Asia Pacific Lead of Kearney’s Energy & Process Industries practice.

Gurgaon-based Saurabh leads a team of consultants that supports companies across energy, metals & mining, chemicals, utilities, and other process industries. Building on the momentum of energy transition and digital transformation, he aims to rapidly grow the industry practice across the region and double its revenue in the next three years.

“I would like to congratulate our newly appointed leaders and thank them for their valuable contribution to Kearney and our clients over the years. As Asia maintains its growth trajectory, these appointments solidify our commitment to being a steadfast ally to businesses that power Asia Pacific’s growth engine,” commented Sethi.
