Mercer launches 4th Greater Bay Area office in Macau
Global human capital advisory firm Mercer has expanded its presence in Greater China with the opening of a new office in Macau.
The new locale is Mercer’s fourth in the Greater Bay Area, a megalopolis consisting of nine cities and two special administrative regions in South China. Mercer’s presence in the region dates back to 1976, with the new Macau office joining the locales in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
“One of China’s most prominent economic development initiatives, the Greater Bay Area is an economic powerhouse in innovation, finance and trade. Our presence in Macau will allow us to capture emerging opportunities with the continued growth of a vibrant, thriving business community,” said Vicki Fan, a leader at Mercer and parent Marsh McLennan.
“We’re seeing strong growth and demand for our consulting services and solutions as organisations seek to meet the health, wealth and career needs of their changing workforce,” added Fan.
Headquartered in the United States, and a sister company of Oliver Wyman and Marsh (among others), Mercer is one of the globe’s largest consultancies dedicated to the field of human resources. The firm has around 25,000 employees based in 40+ countries.
“The expansion will enable us to expand our benefits brokerage and consulting services in the region spanning Hong Kong, Macau and the nine mainland Chinese cities. The new office is also part of our strategic plan for building greater market share in the executive rewards, talent advisory and mobility, as well as wealth expertise segments,” said Fan.
Across Greater China, Mercer has eight offices: in Beijing, Dalian, Hangzhou, Shanghai, alongside the four hubs in Greater Bay Area.
