Lai Keng Wei takes on dual leadership role at Mazars in Singapore
International professional services firm Mazars has appointed Lai Keng Wei as Head of its Risk Management function.
Keng Wei has been with Mazars for a decade, and currently leads the firm’s Valuations practice. In his new internal-focused role, which he holds alongside the position of Valuations leader, Keng Wei oversees the firm’s internal risk management agenda across the Singapore business.
Keng Wei succeeds G Arull, who spent more than a decade at Mazars and is pursuing opportunities outside the firm.
“I am incredibly proud to have this opportunity to lead our risk management team. At a time of rapid regulatory change and complex disruption, I look forward to driving pragmatic solutions that will strike the right balance between safeguarding our firm and capturing new opportunities, said Keng Wei.
As the Head of Valuations since 2015, Keng Wei has led the practice through significant growth. He specialises in valuation for financial reporting and transactions, serving both corporates and investors.
Earlier in his career, he spent several years in a Big Four environment in Singapore and Malaysia, and worked in industry roles. His track record spans audit and assurance experience advising public companies, multinational firms, not-for-profit organisations, and the private sector.
Commenting on the appointment, Rick Chan, Managing Partner and Head of Audit & Assurance APAC at Mazars, said: “I am confident that we can tap on Keng Wei’s wealth of experience and professional expertise to shape our risk management framework and further strengthen our commitment to enhancing our risk management across the firm.”
