Deloitte Digital has picked up two creative boutiques in Southeast Asia, Pixel People and The Union, hot on the heels of a trio of purchases in Australia.

The professional services firm says that the two additions will boost its growth marketing and Adobe suite capabilities across the region, such that it can offer a deeper and broader range of services to clients. Pixel People and The Union have staff in Malaysia and Singapore.

“I am excited to welcome our new colleagues to Deloitte,” said Southeast Asia Consulting regional managing director and Singapore-based partner Eugene Ho. “Their deep expertise and credentials are synergistic with our service offerings, allowing us to drive growth and elevate the customer experience for our clients with data-driven creativity and technology-driven marketing.”

Pixel People was founded by strategy director Fern Yit Lim and technical director Nev Simms in 2018, who were both previously involved in the Singapore branch of Omnicom entity Proximity from 2016. The business is described as an independent digital consultancy and digital product accelerator in Southeast Asia with a number of specialities.

“Having worked with Deloitte Digital on past projects, we appreciate the common values and commitment we share in helping our people and clients succeed,” the pair said. “Hence, it was a natural progression for us to become part of Deloitte. We are confident that the combination of our people and focus on using data to transform businesses will deliver a winning value proposition.”

Meanwhile, The Union (established in 2017) offers services in campaign planning, enterprise consulting and project management, along with services in experience design, platform design & build, and insights and optimisation.

“Deloitte Digital is undoubtedly an integrated experience consultancy that integrates creativity with technology to reimagine brands and customer experiences,” commented Hui Jun Chua, co-founder of The Union. “I look forward to being part of a team that produces award-winning creative work and contributing to Deloitte’s growth across Southeast Asia in the marketing and commerce space.”

Both The Union and Pixel People have between five and ten employees listed on LinkedIn.

Deloitte stated that the dual acquisitions were motivated by an increased demand for digital marketing support from clients, and follow shortly after a triple acquisition in Australia, which added six partners and 70 professionals to its headcount. In 2018, Deloitte Australia merged with Southeast Asia, China, and Japan to form a single Asia Pacific entity.
