BrazilDeloitte acquires sustainability consultancy Carbon Care Asia
Global professional services firm Deloitte has acquired most of the advisory business of Carbon Care Asia, a sustainability consultancy based in Hong Kong.
The deal sees a team of around 25 consultants join Deloitte’s Greater China practice, including Carbon Care Asia chief executive officer Albert Lai.
“Carbon Care Asia was founded with a strong mission to achieving a zero-carbon economy for all by promoting sustainability practices and raising climate capabilities. This deal represents our next milestone, and we're excited to be joining Deloitte and working together to make a bigger impact in pursuit of our mission,” he said.
Founded in 2008, Carbon Care Asia’s team helps clients with ESG reporting, net zero carbon solutions, climate scenario analysis, sustainability research and sustainability training. The firm’s client base includes more than 250 multinationals, private enterprises, and institutions in Hong Kong and across Asia Pacific.
Welcoming the new team to the consulting firm, Deloitte China and Hong Kong Climate and Sustainability Leader Mohit Grover said: “We've witnessed an increasing demand in the past couple of years, as companies rush to embed climate risk into their business strategies, risk management and governance frameworks.”

The deal is Deloitte’s first in Asia since it bolted-on Focus IT in the Philippines at the start of last year. Further south in Asia Pacific, however, in Australia, Deloitte has been on an M&A campaign, closing over a dozen acquisitions in the past two years.
Last month, another Big Four firm closed a deal in Asia, with EY integrating South Korea based T-Plus Consulting into its strategy consulting division EY-Parthenon.
