Cambridge Consultants partner of Medtech Innovator Asia Pacific
Capgemini Invent subsidiary Cambridge Consultants has been named a partner of MedTech Innovator Asia Pacific, joining the likes of Johnson & Johnson, Nipro and Siemens among other major partners.
MedTech Innovator is an accelerator programme organised across the Americas and Asia Pacific, with the aim of helping innovative medical device, digital health and diagnostic companies showcase their vision and products, and helping the most promising concepts with accelerating their growth and with the commercialisation of their technologies.
“Our mission is to improve the lives of patients by accelerating the growth of companies that are transforming the healthcare system,” explained Paul Grand, founder and CEO of MedTech Innovator. In Asia Pacific, the accelerator works closely together with the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association, a regional industry association.
Programme partners support the programme in some form of another, be it though expertise in the MedTech domain, financially or by acting as a growth and technical consultant to the 20 start-ups selected. In the case of Cambridge Consultants, which integrated into Capgemini Invent in June, the firm is providing financial support and will work in an advisory capacity with several of the selected start-up founders.
Commenting on the firm’s reason to partner with the accelerator, Yan Lin Lye, Head of Asia Pacific Medtech at Cambridge Consultants, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to put something back into the industry and help to shape the future. It certainly demonstrates our commitment to medical technology innovation in the region.”
“We look forward to discovering how participants in the program are working to improve and prolong patient lives through innovation.”
Among the fields being explored by participating start-ups are bioelectronics and electroceuticals, which according to a recent report by McKinsey & Company are set to become “the next big thing” in the MedTech scene.
Welcoming Cambridge Consultants to its ranks, Grand commented, “We are pleased to welcome Cambridge Consultants as our newest collaborator for the Asia Pacific program and look forward to working together to advance technologies poised to address critical health issues in the region and achieve better patient outcomes.”
