HKA installs Scott Ramsden as Hong Kong country manager
Global specialist consultancy HKA has appointed a new Country Manager for its Hong Kong office: Scott Ramsden.
The new country leader has been hired externally from FTI Consulting, where he spent the past six years, latterly as a Senior Director. An experienced quantity surveyor and a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Ramsden brings over three decades of experience in the construction industry to his new role.
Prior to serving FTI Consulting, Ramsden held various leadership roles in some of the largest engineering and construction firms (including Driver Trett and Balfour Beatty) as well as expert consultancy firms. The past fifteen years, Ramsden worked mainly in the Middle East and Asia.
Ramsden track record includes being appointed as an independent quantum expert in arbitral proceedings, been cross-examined as a witness in meditation and arbitration proceedings and has provided expert witness support as a lead assistant. He has also worked alongside and assisted solicitors and barristers, providing claims advice, commercial and contract management and dispute resolution services on multiple occasions.
His sector experience includes buildings, transportation infrastructure, resources, power and industrial projects. Besides Scott’s involvement in the preparation, defence, negotiation and settlement of contractual claims, he has also provided commercial management services to major international contractors and oil and gas companies.
“I am absolutely delighted to have Scott join our team at HKA. We were looking for best in class in Hong Kong and having known Scott for the past 14 years as a colleague, a client and a fellow industry professional, I am confident that is exactly what we are getting,” said Benjamin Highfield, Head of Asia at HKA.
In Asia, HKA also has offices in Beijing, Kuala Lumpur Seoul and Singapore. Globally, the risk mitigation and dispute resolution consultancy has over 1,000 staff working from 30+ offices.
“I am delighted to be joining HKA and look forward to expand the business in Hong Kong,” said Ramsden on his new challenge.
