Ogilvy Consulting appoints Chris Chen as partner in China

Ogilvy Consulting, the strategy and innovation consultancy arm of marketing giant Ogilvy, has welcomed a new partner to its team in China: Chris Chen.

Chris Chen brings over 18 years of experience in digital transformation and technical consulting in China and Asia-Pacific to the role. He joins the consulting firm from e-commerce giant Alibaba, where he was responsible for digital transformation consulting initiatives and the implementation of new systems. He among others held a lead role in an upgrade project for Alibaba’s cloud architecture.

Prior to that, Chen worked for Accenture for two years, working on technology strategy engagements. His projects included helping an automotive leader with the design of an improved digital customer experience, helping the same company bolsters its data analytics capabilities across its online channels, and supporting an air logistics group in China with a platform ecosystem enterprise architecture strategy.

Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at the Institute for Information Industry, a Taiwan-based institution that delivers technology research and consulting to business leaders in the area of technology and emerging technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud, machine learning and robotics.

At Ogilvy Consulting, he will be responsible for “expanding our digital transformation and business innovation offerings to empower brands with the digital technology and modern marketing tools they need in today’s disruptive economy,” said Sandy Ng, President of Ogilvy Consulting China.

Commenting on his new challenge, Shanghai based Chen said: “I look forward to enabling brand transformation through cross-border digital thinking and deploying digital transformation, business design, and growth and innovation solutions to help our clients unlock new possibilities.” 

Ogilvy Consulting has over 3,000 consultants working from offices across the globe. The company is led by New York based Carla Hendra, who founded Ogilvy Consulting eight years ago.
