Archer Knight lands in Singapore to serve APAC oil & gas market
Archer Knight – an Aberdeen-based market intelligence and consulting firm specialised in the oil & gas market – has launched in Singapore to serve a dynamic Asia Pacific (APAC) energy landscape.
A team of experts and former professionals from the oil and gas sector: Archer Knight was launched in 2016 to deliver insights for the entire industry ecosystem – spanning companies, operators, contractors, service providers and host of others in the subsea oil and gas supply chain.
Expansion is now on the cards – and Singapore’s position as an energy hub in APAC’s dynamic oil and gas landscape makes it a high-potential option. “More and more of the companies we work with have Asia Pacific divisions,” said Archer Knight co-founder & managing director Mike Watson.
He noted how “the region includes several companies with assets and services focused on international utilisation. Our granular approach, together with our focus on pursuit planning means clients can access cost-effective assessments on international market opportunities.”
Helping Archer Knight with its APAC entry is Poseidon Consulting – a Singapore-based commercial services and business development consultancy specialised in oil and energy. Market intelligence, commercial due diligence, lead generation and prospect tracking are all competencies at the firm – all of which suit Archer Knight’s needs.
Leading the charge at Poseidon is newly appointed regional director Andrew Threlfall – former managing director at Hallin Manufacturing and a market expert with over a decade of experience in Singapore. Threlfall will sit with Archer Knight’s leadership to chart the firm’s APAC growth story.
“I’ve been impressed with Archer Knight’s offering for some time, so when the opportunity arose to work as part of the regional leadership team and help build the business here, I had no hesitation. There are exciting times ahead and I hope to use my regional knowledge to assist the group in bringing its market intelligence expertise to a wider audience,” he said.
Watson lauded Threlfall’s experience, and his value for Archer Knight in APAC. “Having someone of Andrew’s calibre on board helps us accelerate our strategic plans. It also a major statement of our intent to bring a local service to the region which we believe will better serve our growing client base throughout the APAC region.”
Expansion drive
With a dramatic shift to renewables underway across the region, the need for detailed market data is only set to intensify. And Singapore is not the only target. Archer Knight’s growth plans feature an inroad into North America as well, as it looks to expand beyond its Aberdeen office and get closer to a growing pool of clients worldwide.
The scope of services is growing too: the firm recently launched a software as a service (SaaS) platform – Flowline – giving subscribers real time data into dynamics in the subsea oil and gas trade.
