Advancy appoints Xiaokun Hu partner in its Shanghai office
After spending fourteen years at McKinsey & Company, Xiaokun Hu has joined French-origin consultancy Advancy as a partner in its Shanghai office.
“We are delighted that Xiaokun is joining our team,” said Advancy’s founding partner Eric de Bettignies on the high-profile hire. Benjamin Maupetit, Head of China at the firm, added: “He will be invaluable to our further growth in Greater China.”
After completing a traineeship programme at Chinese automotive company Delphi, Hu joined McKinsey & Company at the start of 2007. There, he grew the ranks to Associate Partner, becoming an expert in operations projects for clients in the chemical metallurgy and process industries. He specialises in (digital) operations management, lean manufacturing, supply chain and procurement, among others.
“Xiaokun has a deep expertise in operations and knowledge of the Chinese ecosystem, the country's culture, and an excellent network. This will obviously provide a boost to the client relations of our Chinese office,” said De Bettignies.
Hu will also become a member of Advancy’s global Chemicals practice – one of the firm’s key industry verticals. From its nine offices globally (Paris, Shanghai, Frankfurt, Sydney, São Paulo, London, Johannesburg, New-Delhi and Boston) Advancy advises chemicals sector clients including corporate, mid-sized players and private equity portfolio companies all over the world.
Advancy’s Shanghai office launched in 2006 and currently has a team of thirty management consultants.
Earlier this year, global management consulting firm L.E.K. Consulting appointed Evan Zeng into its Shanghai partnership.
