BrazilEY partner Frankie Leung joins Alvarez & Marsal in China
Alvarez & Marsal has strengthened its team in China with the addition of Frankie Leung as Managing Director.
Frankie Leung joins the firm from EY, where he was a Partner in the firm’s Forensic & Disputes Services division. Earlier in his career, he worked fourteen years for Deloitte in China, holding roles of growing seniority in its Forensic wing.
He brings more than two decades of experience in forensic and investigative accounting experience to Alvarez & Marsal, boosting its capabilities in the field and its commitment to growing the offering in China.
Leung focuses on corporate investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) reviews, compliance framework assessments, and distributor and supplier reviews, working for clients including Chinese and multi-national corporates, audit committees and external legal counsels in China and across the Asia Pacific region.
“Frankie is an important addition to our Disputes & Investigations practice in China,” said Keith Williamson, Head of the practice in Asia. According to a vision paper released by Alvarez & Marsal earlier this month, Covid-19 is expected to lead to a surge in fraud, bribery and corruption in the region against a backdrop of “unprecedented financial pressures”.
Williamson: “This has in turn has resulted in an increasing number of companies and individuals resorting to desperate measures, including financial statement manipulation, and bribery and corruption, to keep their businesses afloat and maintain their standards of living. The fight against fraud, bribery and corruption is intensifying.”
