FTI Consulting adds trio to Strategic Communications arm in China

FTI Consulting has bolstered its Strategic Communications practice in Asia with the appointments of Rachel Hsueh, Jasey Jiang and Darren Chia. All three are based in the firm’s Shanghai office.

Rachel Hsueh has been named a Managing Director and the Head of China for Strategic Communications. She brings over 20 years of communications consultancy experience to the firm, specialising in topics including reputation management, issues and crisis management, public affairs, government relations, media relations, and social strategy.

Her track record includes assisting multinational companies with building their China communications strategy, helping Chinese companies with their cross-region communications strategy campaigns, and helping clients secure high-level exposure in leading media outlets and on digital platforms.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Hsueh was a Senior Partner at FleishmanHillard in China, and before that she served counterpart Golin in Taiwan.

Jasey Jiang and Darren Chia have both been appointed Director. Jiang has over seven years of communications experience gained both in the US and China, where she advises a wide client portfolio including financial institutions, banking, real estate and consumer goods. She most recently served New York headquartered Ruder Finn.

Chia has over six years of experience in the US and China advising multinational corporations, where he provided strategic counsel to primarily the healthcare sector focused on enhancing stakeholder engagement, orchestrating traditional and social media campaigns as well as raising their profile in the China market. He previously worked at Gilead Sciences and Edelman in Shanghai.

Earlier this year, FTI Consulting appointed Jon Rowell as its leader for the Asia and the Caribbean division, overseeing the firm’s China offices in = Beijing and Shanghai.
