Deloitte hires Dwayn Lythgo to lead managed security services arm
Deloitte has hired Dwayn Lythgo from NTT Security to lead its managed security services delivery across the Asia Pacific region.
Lythgo brings over two decades of experience in cybersecurity, technology and risk to the Big Four accounting and consulting firm. Most recently, he was Vice President of Operations at NTT Security, and before that, he held leadership positions at SingTel (Director of cloud delivery and operations) and CSC, which is now part of DXC Technology. Other stints include the Attorney-General’s Department and the Australian Army.
At Deloitte, Lythgo has been tasked with contributing to Deloitte’s growth ambitions in the cybersecurity managed services segment, one of the fastest growing segments in the broader managed services space. Deloitte has a global network Cyber Intelligence Centres (CICs) that provide such services, with its regional presence leaning on the CICs in Australia, India and Southeast Asia.
Lythgo has been appointed Managing Director of the AP Cybersphere, a newly created role, aimed at boosting the maturity of the CICs. AP Cybersphere is a virtual delivery centre led from Singapore that aims at taking Deloitte’s managed security services “to the next level,” said the firm’s Cyber leader for Asia Pacific, James Nunn-Price. This will be done through cross-border collaboration and by injecting emerging technologies as cyber analytics and artificial intelligence into the mix.
The leader of Risk Advisory in Asia Pacific, Dave Kennedy, elaborated: “The AP Cybersphere will enable Deloitte to redefine the quality, innovation and capital efficiency of managed cyber services across the region. Dwayn’s expertise and reputation managing cyber services for defence, government and enterprise will help deliver significant outcomes for our clients.”
Speaking about his move, Lythgo himself said, “I am delighted to join Deloitte. Cyber security is a global priority as businesses and individuals are pushed to accelerate their digital transformation and consumption in order to thrive. It is imperative that fast, efficient and cost-effective service is made available so that business needs can be swiftly addressed in today’s climate, and I look forward to help meet these needs through AP Cybersphere.”
Earlier this year, Deloitte bought Malaysian boutique cybersecurity consultancy SecurePath, shortly after risk advisory Kroll bolstered its capacities in the field with the purchase of Singapore-based cyber-security firm RP Digital Security.
