Duff & Phelps promotes four to managing director across Asia

Global advisory Duff & Phelps has made 32 managing director promotions worldwide, including four individuals across the Asia Pacific.

Mirroring a round of promotions made in the second quarter last year, global business advisory Duff & Phelps has newly elevated 32 of its professionals to managing director level, including Seiya Aizawa in Tokyo and Aaron Weiss of the firm’s Hong Kong office.

In addition, Sanjay Ray and Shreyansh Vora were added to the managing director ranks in Mumbai, with other promotions spanning the United States, London and Europe.

Seiya Aizawa

A member of Duff & Phelps’ Valuation Advisory Services unit in Tokyo, Aizawa boasts around a decade of experience in corporate finance and valuation services across a wide range of sectors, such as industrial products, consumer, IT, financial services and retail. Aizawa’s areas of focus include purchase price allocation and legal entity valuation, along with assisting clients with transactions; and conducting valuations of intangible assets.

Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Aizawa served in the Corporate Finance Advisory unit at MISUZU Financial Advisors, formerly part of the PwC network. Earlier in his career, Aizawa also spent time in the valuation and modeling services wing of Deloitte's local Financial Advisory practice, and was prior to MISUZU employed in the Industrial Research Division of Teikoku Databank in Tokyo as a researcher and analyst.

Aaron Weiss

A new managing director in Hong Kong, Weiss serves in Duff & Phelps’ Compliance and Regulatory Consulting division, one of the firm’s primary service lines together with valuation advisory, corporate finance, and risk, governance, investigations and disputes (subsidy Kroll also covers cyber risk). With the firm since 2018, Weiss joined from Singapore-based asset manager EFA Group, where he was Head of Global Compliance.

Amassing experiencing in a number of roles in both the US and Asia over the past 15 years, Weiss out of his base in Hong Kong and Singapore serves clients across the Asia Pacific on institutional alternative asset management compliance, with a focus on the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission and National Futures Association as well as the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, Sanjay Ray and Shreyansh Vora – respectively of the firm’s Valuation Advisory Services and Corporate Finance divisions – have also been named as new managing directors. Joining the firm last year after a long stint at Deloitte, Vora leads the due diligence team for Transaction Advisory Services in India, while Ray, also formerly with Deloitte, served as a director at Duff & Phelps’ 2015 acquisition American Appraisal.
