The Asia Pacific edition of EY’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women programme is back for 2020, with 22 female business leaders from across the region selected for particpation.

Professional services firm Ernst & Young has selected the latest cohort of regional female business leaders for its Entrepreneurial Winning Women programme in the Asia Pacific. Representing a diverse array of sectors, the batch of 22 entrepreneurs from nine countries across the region in 2018 generated collective revenues in excess of $1 billion, while employing almost 5,000 workers region-wide.

“The 2020 Asia-Pacific class represent an impressive group from various professional backgrounds,” said global programme leader Kath Carter. “We’re proud to bring together this group of ambitious women entrepreneurs and business leaders. Without fail, the Winning Women program forms a vibrant community where individuals are provided the tools, education and network to unlock their full potential.”

Now into its 12th year and covering at least 50 countries across eight global regions, the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women programme aims to support ambitious female entrepreneurs operating successful businesses with scalable potential, providing participants with training, networking and access to business intelligence. More than 750 women have participated to date, creating its own community in turn.

Now, 22 new faces are set to join that list, with a three-day conference scheduled to take pace in Seoul later this year. Overseeing businesses in sectors including aviation services, technology, eCommerce, fashion, financial services, hospitality, media, medical imaging, and care are participants from the Philippines, Japan, China, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Representing the latter is Sabrina Tan of Skin Inc Global, a skincare brand that uses technology to develop customised products. “As a woman entrepreneur in Asia, we need to constantly balance between our traditional role as a family caregiver and our personal aspirations,” said Tan. “In the coming event, I hope to learn from other women leaders and gain reversed mentorship from younger women.”

In addition to the conference in South Korea, Tan and her fellow entrepreneurs will participate in a series of e-conferences, in-country business sessions and workshops, with activities aimed at strengthening cultural and commercial skills. Access, an area where businesswomen have been systemically deprived, is a notable area of focus, with participants provided with the opportunity to build strategic partnerships.

“I look forward to seeing how the women connect with alumnae from previous years from across Asia-Pacific and the broader global community to share information, insight and even start new businesses together,” said Loletta Chow, EY Asia-Pacific Growth Markets Leader and co-executive programme sponsor. “This is a wonderful community that has no borders and continues to grow and expand internationally.”
