Tricor makes three key appointments to kick off the new year
Business services provider Tricor has kicked off the new year with three senior appointments, including Gary Tok and Jennifer Ngai in Asia.
Following on from a busy 2019 – which culminated in a partnership agreement with global consultancy Willis Towers Watson – leading regional business services provider Tricor has hit the new year running, with three senior appointments across the Asia Pacific. Gary Tok and Jennifer Ngai join respectively as Group COO and Executive Director, while Richard Beattie has been named CEO for Australia.
Gary Tok
With over two decades worth of regional experience in sales, business development, marketing and account management under his belt, former Mercer and Aon executive Gary Tok has been tapped as Tricor’s new Group Chief Commercial Officer. In the role, Tok will be responsible for leading Tricor’s sales and business development activities for the firm’s full range of services across 21 markets.
Tok first joined Mercer in Australia shortly after a degree in marketing and economics at the University of Sydney, spending over four years in a business development leadership role before crossing briefly to Baker McKenzie. In 2006 he returned to Mercer in Hong Kong, holding a variety of positions over the following decade, before switching to Aon as Regional Director of Sales and Client Management.
“I am pleased to welcome Gary to our team,” said Group CEO Lennard Yong, noting Tok’s “dynamic, client-centric approach” to business development as a valuable asset for the firm’s expansion plans. “Gary has a track record of leading successful cross-border teams, achieving profitable revenue growth, forming strategic partnerships, forecasting sales performance and closing complex sales transactions.”
Jennifer Ngai
Meanwhile, Tricor Hong Kong has announced the expansion of its Corporate Services and Private Client business with the appointment of Jennifer Ngai as Executive Director. Ngai joins from an executive director role at rival Vistra, where she has served for the past seven and a half years, amassing altogether more than a decade and a half of experience in the fiduciary and corporate services industry.
During that time, Ngai has developed expertise in building high performance teams from ground-up, managing businesses of different maturity, and driving regional growth, and at Tricor has been tasked with “driving the development, promotion and sales for Tricor’s comprehensive range of corporate and private client solutions, including but not limited to offshore pre-IPO structuring and Private HNW Trusts.”
Tricor Hong Kong CEO Joe Wan stated that Ngai appointment demonstrates the firm’s commitment in delivering best-in-class services; “With Jennifer now being part of the team, Tricor Hong Kong further deepens our expertise. The expanded team will be in the best position to provide clients with more holistic and customised solutions, robust wealth management process and enhanced capabilities.”
