FTI makes 34 senior promotions, including two in Hong Kong
Global professional services firm FTI Consulting has made 34 Senior Managing Director promotions for the new year, including Hong Kong-based duo Ben Johnson and Sean Lam.
Global advisory FTI Consulting has announced its new year senior managing director appointments for the new year, with Ben Johnson and Sean Lam from the firm’s Hong Kong office among the 34 worldwide promotions. The fresh elevations follow the five from Asia in the firm's corresponding round last year (of 40 in total worldwide), with Amrit Singh Deo in Mumbai also among this year’s crop.
Ben Johnson
Serving in FTI’s Economic and Financial Consulting division in Hong Kong, Johnson has been with the firm for close to nine and a half years, crossing with the acquisition of LECG in 2010. After five years with FTI in London, Johnson, who is an ICAEW-accredited chartered accountant and holds a first class BSc in Economics and Chinese from the University of Warwick, relocated to Hong Kong.
With internatonal experience in a number of industries, including among others the financial services, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals and energy sectors, Johnson lends his financial and accounting expertise in areas such as valuations and the quantification of lost profits in contentious contexts, serving as an expert witness in international arbitration and litigation proceedings and as an expert determiner.
Sean Lam
Lam, who serves in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment of FTI Consulting in Hong Kong, makes Senior Managing Director after just under nine years with the firm, originally crossing from Ferrier Hodgson in 2011 on its acquisition by FTI in Hong Kong. Lam first joined Ferrier Hodgson in 2005, and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.
During his career, Lam has developed cross-jurisdiction expertise in forensic accounting, fraud investigation and litigation support, specialising in forensic accounting review and investigations of white-collar crime, accounting irregularities and other complex regulatory matters. Covering a range of industries, Lam has also been appointed as a High Court testifying expert in legal proceedings for local and foreign-listed companies.
Elsewhere among the FTI senior managing director promotions, were ten individuals from London, Paris and Munich, nineteen from offices across North America, two in South America (Brazil and Colombia), and one in India – Amrit Singh Deo, who, serving in FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment, has been with the firm since 2012 and helped establish its Mumbai office.
“Many congratulations to our new Senior Managing Directors,” said FTI Consulting’s President and Chief Executive Officer Steven H. Gunby. “They collectively reflect the depth of talent we are fortunate to have at FTI Consulting, as well as our commitment to attracting and retaining the best professionals. I am confident their promotion will further enhance the incredibly bright future in front of our firm.”
