Seven from Asia among Oliver Wyman partnership promotions
Global management consultancy Oliver Wyman has admitted seven new partners to its ranks in Asia, including four in Singapore and three in Hong Kong.
Among 36 end-of-year promotions in its offices worldwide, global management consultancy Oliver Wyman has elected seven new partners in Asia; Alon Cliff-Tavor, Gaurav Kwatra, Kitty Lee and Saahil Malik in Singapore, and in Hong Kong; Hang Qian, Imke Wouters, and James Yang. Jayant Raman in Singapore was the only Asian promotion was made in the corresponding round last year.
Singapore
With the firm in Singapore since 2015, Alon Cliff-Tavor serves in Oliver Wyman’s Corporate & Institutional Banking practice, as well as in Digital, Technology, Operations & Analytics – advising on topics such as digitisation, fintech collaboration and cyber risk. An INSEAD MBA graduate, Cliff-Tavor before joining Oliver Wyman spent over a decade with DBS, American Express and Standard Chartered.
Closing in on ten years at the firm, Gaurav Kwatra is a Singapore-based consultant in the Oliver Wyman’s Finance and Risk Practice, and leads the firms Southeast Asian Green Finance initiatives with clients in the banking, insurance, and asset and wealth management segments. An expert in lending and advanced analytics, Kwarta also holds an MBA from INSEAD, together with a computer engineering degree.
Previously spending six years with Oliver Wyman sister-firm and predecessor Mercer Human Resource/Management Consulting until 2008, Kitty Lee rejoined Oliver Wyman from Zuellig Pharmaas in 2016 and now serves in its Asia Pacific Health & Life Science practice with a focus on M&A growth agendas. She holds an MBA from London Business School, and has gained experience in Asia, Europe and the US.
The last of the Singapore-based quartet, Saahil Malik is currently a senior principal in Oliver Wyman’s Asia Pacific Communications, Media & Technology (CMT) practice. An MBA graduate from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, Malik joined Oliver Wyman from Delta Partners in 2015, with previous stints at L.E.K. Consulting, Duff & Phelps and LECG across a fifteen year advisory career.
Hong Kong
Crossing to Oliver Wyman’s Hong Kong office from New York in 2017, Hang Qian has been associated with the firm since 2010, kicking off as a summer consulting analyst (having previously also completed internships with ICBC and KPMG in Shanghai) before joining its Finance & Risk practice on the completion of a BA in economics/mathematics from Dartmouth College the following year.
Also based out of Hong Kong, James Yang meanwhile serves in Oliver Wyman’s Retail and Consumer Goods Practice, alongside Imke Wouters, with both coming to the firm via OC&C Strategy Consultants when the team switched firms back in 2015. Yang holds a BSc. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University, while Wouters completed a BSc from the University of Maastricht.
The partnership elevations will take effect from the 1st of January, with further additions in the Middle East, Europe and North America. “Our new partners span the globe in terms of location, experience and expertise and we are lucky to have them,” said CEO Scott McDonald. “I congratulate them on their achievement and know they will help our clients navigate challenges and opportunities in a fast-changing market.”
