About the Role

Our Strategic Communications team in Singapore provides our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.

Position Summary

FTI Consulting's Strategic Communications segment is seeking to hire an experienced communications practitioner to join a dynamic and growing team. The position is in Singapore and the successful candidate will help steer the office's Corporate Communications, Financial Communications and Public Affairs practice areas.

The candidate should have a proven ability to both service client companies on a day-to-day basis and contribute to developing new business.

The candidate should also have excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to help manage junior team members and work with colleagues from a global network as a collegiate team player.

The candidate should be mature, results-oriented, and prepared to learn and utilize new approaches to communications as part of a global communications consultancy business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of client accounts, with the ability to actively participate in the firm's cross-border, multi-facet strategic communications offerings.
  • Work with a highly motivated team in the Singapore office (and broader regional team) to strengthen the strategic communications offerings.
  • Ability to lead and take accountability for client servicing, media relations and local and regional account management.
  • Develop plans for business development, with an emphasis on corporate communications within the Financial Services, Professional Services and FinTech sectors.
  • Lead the creation of high-quality written business development proposals.
  • Provide input for the Singapore office's marketing and promotional activities in Asia.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.
  • Work with senior management to provide input towards the development of the firm's strategic direction in the market.
  • Helps clients identify and escalate risks in order to act and communicate with integrity.
  • Understands and lives by FTI's values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice, and works with junior staff to embed these concepts within the firm's culture. Key Requirements

  • University degree or higher.
  • At least 10 years of experience of agency, in house or journalism experience.
  • Strong working relationships with local and regional media and knowledge of local media landscape important.
  • Issues and crisis management experience.
  • New business development skills (strategy, lead generation, proposal development, etc.).
  • Fluency in English is required (Mandarin capabilities also desirable).
  • Strong editorial and written skills are a must.
  • Excellent presentation and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own time.
  • A collegiate approach to working in a diverse team across the Asia region and globally.
  • Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s).
