Practice Summary

Corporate Finance and Restructuring is a dominant industry leader in Asia, especially in restructuring (in-court and out-of-court), independent financial advisory, corporate liquidations and receiverships. The Corporate Finance and Restructuring segment of FTI Consulting provides complete support in turnaround and restructuring, transaction advisory services and corporate recovery.

FTI Capital Advisors ("FTICA"), is a dedicated global investment banking subsidiary of FTI Consulting, focused on capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, structured solutions and strategic advisory services. FTICA has 12 global offices with close to 100 professional and was established to advise our clients through complex transactional challenges by combining years of capital markets expertise, leveraging FTI's deep industry practices and employing a "hands-on" approach. FTICA Hong Kong is committed to provide a one-stop shop service to our global clients across key industries segments (e.g. Real Estate, TMT/Fintech, ESG, Healthcare and Infrastructure, etc.).

Work with Capital Advisory for support on:
  • Sell-side advisory
  • Buy-side advisory
  • Distressed M&A and capital raising advisory
  • Private placements of debt or equity
  • Debt capital markets advisory
  • Strategic alternatives and capital structure advisory
  • Valuation and opinions
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in strategic planning of engagements and potential engagements.
  • Participate in Corporate Finance and Restructuring direction and strategy.
  • Utilise advanced accounting knowledge and logical reasoning skills to provide complete client services.
  • Project management including drafting letter of engagements, billing and coordination with client contacts.
  • Work to ensure a quality product, as well as deliver all work within established timeframes.
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations and other deliverables for third parties, setting out findings and/or results of the agreed scope of work.
  • Interact directly with clients including lawyers and senior accounting personnel.
  • Track progress of cases and monitor workflow of different matters.
  • Coordinate and assist senior members of the team to ensure the timely completion of engagements.
  • Contribute to management of the Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice through active involvement in practice development activities and develop professional network.
  • Assist with developing and managing a project's scope, timeline, tasks, resources and time/cost estimate.
  • Build relationships internally across different segments to cross sell services to clients.
  • Assist senior members of the team with research and preparation of pitches and proposal.
  • Maintain professional image within the firm and project the same to those outside the firm.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
  • Hong Kong or internationally recognised professional accounting or finance qualification.
  • 1-3 years of solid professional experience in capital markets advisory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and be able to draft and write expert reports (written and spoken Mandarin/ Cantonese preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information.
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal insolvency process, including relevant laws and practices.
  • Able to write complex reports.
  • Experience in managing teams and projects.
  • Financial modelling skills.
  • Is a self-starter with the ability to work in fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel when requested.
